Ryan Hardy-Does This Face Rock

wombnet08

Website here
Ryan's music is difficult to describe. On the surface, it's playful and silly enough to be suitable for children. Musically, this is complex stuff, rooted firmly in the English tradition of whimsy going back to Noel Coward and beyond. He sings about things with which we can all identify, such as what to do for fun with no money, or feeling dizzy from clumsiness. It's the combination of the mundane with the absurd that makes this music so utterly charming, and typifies the ethos of wombnet.
Original recorded as a session for "The Peter Nelson Show" in 2009.

Zoo-The Animal Hop Remixes

wombnet07

The long awaited Animal Hop remixes collection. Listen With Sarah's indie hit of 2004 remixed by some very individualistic artists. In 2005 Sarah was invited by Rough Trade to contribute Animal Hop to their annual "Counter Culture" cd, on condition that all samples were used with permission. That proved difficult. Read the whole story here.

Steveless & Syd Howells-Stolen Owls May Die Fears Owner

wombnet06

Steveless, the doge of anti-music, is joined by his partner in being Steveless & Syd Howells,
Syd Howells. Steveless, apparently, is a bad friend and is not called Steve. Syd is a vegan, and
hence superior to all of you. They are both from Wales, a country well known for tune stranglers.
Neither of them is related to Harry Parr-Davies*.
This is a joint release with Fuku Records, from whom a CD version is available with different artwork. Contact Syd Howells. Website here.

*Harry Parr-Davies, another notable Welshman, wrote "Sing As We Go", made popular by Gracie Fields, which was adapted by Monty Python to "Sit On My Face", one of the greatest love songs ever written.
